Twin Lakes Difference Grant
As part of its ongoing commitment to rural communities Twin Lakes, in conjunction with the Foundation for Rural Service (FRS), awarded approximately $110,000 to 26 local organizations in 2024 to enhance the quality of life for those who live, work and play in the Upper Cumberland region. These organizations range from schools, museums, fire departments, economic development groups and more. The Twin Lakes Difference Grant is offered annually through Twin Lakes to support local technology efforts to build and sustain our local communities. Local School Support
Education of our local students is a top priority for Twin Lakes. Our youth assist in shaping our communities and Twin Lakes is proud to contribute to their success. In 2025, Twin Lakes donated $3 per student enrolled at every K-8 school in our local service area.
Project Graduation
Project Graduation is a post-graduation event supported by sponsorships from local organizations. Twin Lakes is proud to be a sponsor and help seniors celebrate. Congratulations to the Class of 2025!


FRS Scholarship
The Foundation for Rural Service (FRS) offers an annual college scholarship program to help further higher education among rural youth. Twin Lakes, in partnership with FRS, sponsors the students who apply for this scholarship. This year, we are proud to announce Madison Smith from Monterey High School as a 2025 FRS Scholarship Recipient. Madison will receive a one-time $2,500 scholarship to further her education at Tennessee Tech University. Congratulations Madison and the Class of 2025!
FRS Youth Tour
The Foundation for Rural Service (FRS), along with Twin Lakes and other NTCA-member companies, sponsor the Youth Tour to Washington D.C. The Youth Tour gives rural high school students from around the United States the opportunity to visit Washington D.C. on a four-day tour. Twin Lakes is proud to sponsor Brooklynn Loftis from Livingston Academy and Gunter Fitzgerald from Pickett County High School. Twin Lakes’ Youth Tour chaperone was Mrs. Ashley Hillabrand, Customer Service Supervisor. Thank you for representing our community, Brooklynn and Gunter!

FRS Community Grant
2024 Award Winners
As part of its ongoing commitment to rural communities across the country, the Foundation for Rural Service (FRS) offers aid for communities served by NTCA – The Rural Broadband Association members, including Twin Lakes, through its annual Community Grant Program.
The grants are designed to provide support to a variety of local efforts to build and sustain a high quality of life in rural America. Twin Lakes is pleased to announce Upper Cumberland Local Workforce Development Board and Youth Villages Middle Tennessee as two of the 2024 Foundation for Rural Service Community Grant recipients.
Upper Cumberland Local Workforce Development Board received $5,000 to provide reliable computer equipment to their staff, which is essential for improving operational efficiency and enhancing their ability to serve the community effectively.
Youth Villages Middle Tennessee received $5,000 to provide nine laptops for at-risk youth in their LifeSet Scholars program who are from rural areas and need assistance purchasing necessary academic supplies.
