July/August 2025 Newsletter
In this edition of the newsletter, we discuss:
FRS Youth Tour
The Foundation for Rural Service (FRS), along with Twin Lakes and other NTCA-member companies, sponsor the Youth Tour to Washington D.C. The Youth Tour gives rural high school students from around the United States the opportunity to visit Washington D.C. on a four-day tour. Twin Lakes is proud to sponsor Brooklynn Loftis from Livingston Academy and Gunter Fitzgerald from Pickett County High School.

FRS Scholarship
The Foundation for Rural Service (FRS) offers an annual college scholarship program to help further higher education among rural youth. Twin Lakes, in partnership with FRS, sponsors the students who apply for this scholarship. This year, we are proud to announce Madison Smith from Monterey High School as a 2025 FRS Scholarship Recipient. Madison will receive a one-time $2,500 scholarship to further her education at Tennessee Tech University. Congratulations Madison and the Class of 2025!
FRS Grant
As part of its ongoing commitment to rural communities across the country, the Foundation for Rural Service (FRS) provides annual grants for communities served by NTCA members such as Twin Lakes. The goal of this program is to support local efforts to build and sustain a high quality of life in rural America. The grants, ranging from $250 to $5,000, are intended to be invested back into rural communities. Grant projects are concentrated in four major areas: business, community and economic development, education, and applications of telecommunications.
